We stayed as a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 young kids in a “family room” which was advertised as basically 2 connecting rooms connected by a mini hallway. Unfortunately the room we had did not match the description - we had the two bedrooms but instead of one queen/king bed and one room with twin beds, we had two rooms with double beds in. This is no good for a family of four with young kids - they were never going to easily share a double bed and not wake each other up. When asked, the staff admitted there was only one family room in the whole hotel with double and twin configuration. Disappointing. Staff were very friendly, and tried to help where they could - the ladies running the breakfast room were especially lovely, taking time to say hello to our kids each morning and even gave them a few extra bits - fresh baked treats etc. The location is good, close to all of the major attractions and near enough some good shops and restaurants. The hotel is generally quiet, and the air conditioning functions well. The rooms on first glance were well appointed, but we realised a couple of days in the coffee/tea facilities weren’t great, and the water was not refreshed after the initial bottle on arrival. It just felt a little lack of TLC for the price - cleaning was adequate not great each day, and the room service we tried on the first day was pretty poor. It’s a shame, because the hotel has the potential to be a real hidden gem - their counterparts in Malaga who we have stayed with have everything down much better.

Really nice stay with the guys at Hotel Room Mate Anna Barcelona. A special mention to reception staff and the breakfast team. Lovely roof top bar and the rooms and service are 1st class. A great little "speak easy" restaurant wirh live music in the basement (but keep it quiet!) Would definitely visit again x

We were delighted with this hotel during our mini break. We were welcomed at reception mid morning but it was not a problem seemingly to staff. Our luggage was stored and we were offered somewhere to change if needed. Our room was clean and comfortable along with being very quiet too. Breakfasts were superb so much choice and replaced throughout the time we were in the restaurant- special mention has to go to Marta who was welcoming and always busy ensuring tables were cleared and food replenished We would throughly recommend this hotel for its comfort along with how central it is to sightseeing places and restaurants to eat in. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet but with odd red and black decor. The bed was so comfortable I should have asked what kind of mattress it was. Location is excellent right in the middle of the places we wanted to visit and easy to reach by bus or metro.

Positives: Nice Decor, Clean, Good Location Quiet, Good Breakfast Negatives: Except for 2 other rooms of the hundreds of rooms I have stayed in over the years, only 2 were equal or smaller. The fee I paid was ridiculously high. while I was waiting to check in a potential guest was offered a room at less than half the cost. when I approached the clerk about his , she said I was stuck with the higher price . I expected this, but most good hotels would have at least upgraded me , particularly when the hotel was half empty as this one was.
